Passionate about helping individuals and communities integrate art and creativity sustainably into their lives for increased joy. Motivated by the restorative power and the loveliness of art.
The 9-5: Creative Communications Lead at SHiFT UK, harnessing the power of stories and creative communications to break the destructive cycle of children and young people caught up in, or at risk of, crime. Working to transform policy and practice in how young people in these circumstances are seen and supported.
The other time: Artist, writer, creative coach
Hey, I’m Phoebe
I hold a degree in Fine Art (BA Painting) from Central Saint Martins and have spent seven years working in various roles within art galleries, including curation, public programming, and creative direction. From here I became an independent Communications Consultant and Creative Coach before taking up the role of Creative Communications Lead at SHiFT UK (October 2023), an organisation focused on disrupting the cycle of young people caught up in, or at risk of crime.
My core beliefs revolve around the transformative power of art, emphasising its ability to transcend boundaries, heal, inspire, and promote accessibility and diversity in creative expressions. I'm a strong advocate for nurturing individual creativity as essential for personal growth and community well-being, I love coaching creatives in my spare time and supporting them to build sustainable and expansive creative practices (and hanging out in their studios or cute bookshop cafes solving the world’s problems together!).
As an artist and collector, my creative practice currently considers the undervaluation of art and artists through satire, drawing inspiration from contemporary politics and social injustices.
