‘Luxury Goods'
Euan Roberts
Euan Roberts’ first documented artistic endeavour was a drawing on the underside of his parents’ kitchen table, there was also a brief stint as a graffiti artist aged 11, years before he ended up studying art foundation and then illustration at Manchester University. Fast forward to the present day, and Euan has developed a distinctive style with repeated motifs, a striking colour palette, and subjects that range from crabs smoking cigarettes to bears on yoga mats. His work is humorous and touches lightly on themes of addiction, mental health, wellbeing, and consumerism.
Euan is also the founder of Big Yin Gallery in Hastings, St Leonards-on-sea. A gallerist, an artist, the owner of fantastic sunglasses, I have been excited to work with him for several months now.
I caught up with him before we opened the show and we discussed fashion, luxury, food, and the creative process of someone who isn’t afraid to get things wrong!
